Abstract

PSYCHOMETRIC PROPERTIES OF THE HABAB MALEVOLENT CREATIVITY SCALE

Malevolent creativity refers to immoral Creativity and devoid of values, often combined with detrimental effects on others. The current study analyses the Habab Malevolent Creativity Scale (HMCS), It is use self-report, The scale contains 48 items and was designed to measure the ability of individuals to produce the largest diverse and unique number of ideas, emotions and behaviors related to hurting, lying playing tricks, it is one of the few scale available to directly measure Malevolent Creativity (MC). The scale was administered to 3406 male and female students in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and Sudan and to a sample of 115 male and female prisoners in Omdurman Prison in Sudan, The reliability of the scale was tested with nine indicators of validity, the instrument had high indicators of validity and stability, as the validity of internal consistency. Reliability coefficients using Cronbach’s Alpha and MacDonald’s Omega were high. Thus, it is a reliable instrument with which to measure Malevolent Creativity.
